Do you delete spam emails without opening them?

So all of you get spam mails in your inbox. Its nothing new. I just click on the empty button in yahoo to delete all the spam mails even without opening the bulk mail folder. Sometimes i lose an important mail that by mistake went to bulk folder. Do you delete spam mails without reading them? Have you ever lost an important email while doing so?

I usually delete all my spam emails without opening but I check ones that are from someone I have not had one from before. I usually get from the same people all the time, It really annoys me that some people keep trying again and again.

Same here, I just open my Junk Mail foler and delete all the e-mails after seeing once all the mails, going through the whole page and then select all [i]and delete. I have never lost any important mail so far, as I thoroughly go through all the e-mails in Junk Mail folder.

I get about 600 to 700 spams a day but mostly on my oldest e mail address. I have transfered most of my contacts to a new address. I don't bother with the spam folder I have the emails in 100 to a page mark them all for deleting, glance down the list in case there is the odd one I want. mostly there is not, then I delete the lot and mark up the next 100 for the same process. It takes about two or three minutes and I do it about three times a day.

I read the sender of the emails making sure a known sender hasnt been sent to the spam box. After checking sender names i delete them all. I cant think of a time when i've lost an important email over that...people have always resent things if i miss them and they are important.

Thats a good point. If its something really important then people will send them again.

Doesn't it bothers you to see that 10000 unread messages? I just like to keep my email account clean.

When there are only a few spams, say 50 or so, I tend to read them, but when there are over 1,000 then I tend to delete them all without even looking! I dont have time to do otherwise!

I always scan down the list of who the spam emails are from this way I catch the odd one that is not spam. I do this quite a few times during the day. I do not open any email if I do not recognise the sender. I would rather be safe than sorry incase I inadvertently opened some kind of virus mail.

I get so many spam e-mails I tend to just empty the spam folder immediately often without checking them through. Perhaps I should take more time to scan through them, but I think it would be quite a lot of time! LOL

Well, before I do delete spam mail in my spam mail folder, I browse a little, then if nothing shows, I delete entirely. If the email was lost, then surely the person can send them again.

Yes I do and I'm pretty sure i've spammed some important ones. What I hate the most in reporting and delting spam is they just find another way to get back in you ebox, and that is so frustrating! I wish these people would realize the first time I delete them as spam that I don't want to read their mail. The only mail I want is the mail I have in my address book, but that's also yahoo's fault for letting them in,in the first place.

Yes, i delete them, i would likely know that they are spam because of the title or subject and the sender.

Yes. They are very annoying. But i always keep them in the bulk folder. Why? because my mailbox is very large. Once it is full, i just press the "empty" button just like you do. I've never lost any important message, because i have never had any. So sad. My emails are only from forum, mailing list, etc.

Every time! Between all the work related and personal email accounts I have I generally receive several hundred of them a day. It is a pain in the backside and very hard to control. For my work email accounts I have a double delete scenario set up so I actually have to confirm a second time before emails are completely removed from the system. This ensures that I don't lose any wanted emails accidentally.

No, I don't delete spam mails right away. I check them first then delete. Good evening.

I just check the senders name and if it is something from a trusted source I open it. Otherwise it is just select all delete for me. I don't have time for spam. I never lost an important mail doing so.

I used to check only my inbox but now I check all of my folders and read the subject and sender first before open or delete it. I almost lost my customer mail order before because that email was sent to bulk folder. I didn't even notice until he call me after few days passed. So, I check my bulk folder and found his order there. After that, I will always check both my inbox and bulk folder to see if there are important mail in there or not.
