3 hours~~Can not believe that.I currently use Nero with my ASUA DVD Rom and the average time for one full DVD is 8 mins or less, with 4x speed. What's the brand of your DVD Burner?

which format of movie you are burning to dvd. Normally it take 5-10 min to burn movie in dvd. If you are making dvd video of other format takes long time to burn because it first convert movie to dvd.........

I can burn a 2-movie DVD in about 2.5 hours using ConvertXtoDVD, and I'm running a P4 2.80Ghz oc'ed to 3.09Ghz. The average movie length would be about 1h45.

Try using covertX. It is faster than nero.

It depends on what you use to encode the video, I guess. I use TMPG for encoding, and it'll prolly take around 3hrs for a 2hr video, but I use some filters, so I dunno... I think encoding would only be significantly faster for multicore processors if the software supports multithreading and multicore optimization, in general.
