This former boy wonder from Liverpool keeps asking for the more wages.. do you think Newcastle should pay to keep him or sell him fast for a good value? here are some of the points to consider: he's already 28 he has been consistently injured he has lost his pace my opinion is: sell him when he's still has a value, save the wages for some better players than this overrated crap.

Yes, newcastle should keep him. No doubt he has lost abit of his devasting pace, he still has the natural instinct to be a deadly finisher. If you have looked at newcastle's record, his ratio of goals is to games is around 1:2 if i'm not wrong. Newcastle still depend on him to get the goals. Anyway, selling him is not an option. How much did newcastle pay for him. €16m. With the current inflation in the market, he is not worth €16m anymore. Newcastle will incurred a lost then. Therefore in my opinion, they should just keep him

My 10 year old son thinks to keep him. Because they will stand no chance in the premier legue without him. Myself knows nothing about football. LOL

Even though he had lost his pace and getting older , i do see he is currently the best striker in newcastle united and one of the england best striker , i don't see why newcastle would want to let him leave yea .

No doubt he has lost his pace and his injury record is unbelievable. He may seem overrated at the moment, but I feel that he doesn't have much chance to prove himself due to his injuries. He does show that he can still score goals if he regain his match fitness. Let's pray that Michael Owen can play till the end of the season without any injuries... Just look at how much injuries Newcastle United have now! The only fit striker in Newcastle is currently Michael Owen.... -_-

i think they should never have bought him, we need more than one good player to make the team work to its full potential, for what we spent on that little man we could have bought 3 or 4 decent players and helped in our defence area as well as striking, we need to stop letting goals in as well as putting them away. like someone has mentioned, selling is not really a viable option right now with the economy the way it is, also the team is currently undergoing enough turmoil. he is overrated though. he performs no where near as well as did for Liverpool but then i expected that, i found it miraculous how when England were playing he was fit enough to play for them, yet he would always result in being injured for newcastle games yes he can score, yes he might have a good ratio of goal with appearances but we need him to be more reliable and be playing more than the few games he does play. i think at end of last season he had played somewhere in the region of 50games (and not even full 90mins) since he's joined!!! some players will make that many appearances for their team in a season!!! he should be putting himself right out there and proviing why he's worth so much but for the amount he's played i'd tell him where to shove his pay rise requests he behaves like a spolilt little brat, if we called in sick as much as he did we'd be sacked in fact we'd never even be offered another job, why so different for him. he's good but he's not that good......not anymore

look at what he does this season, only 11 appearance and 7 goals already.. the closest to his perform in newcastle is only obafemi martins with 6 goals. so i think newcastle should keep him. in fact, the current squad is improving right now, no need to change them at all.

i think Newcastle would definitely like to have a star player like him, indeed he's a big asset too. But in my opinion he must leave this club to save his career as i already said in the discussion that i've already started.
