Fall Fair

So how many of you have a Fall Fair or end of summer Festival where you live? My husband is away right now attending the Acadian Festival in his hometown in Prince Edward Island (Canada). He performed several times over the weekend (he is a step dancer). It is a 3-day long event jam-packed with activities.
Here in town we have a Fall Fair on the Labour Day Weekend. I take the kids every year. They enjoyed the rides and playing games where you win a prize every time (like we need anymore stuffed animals in the house!) Last year we watched the Car Derby but weren't prepared for staying that late and the cooler temperatures at night forced us to leave early. This year we came prepared and stayed for the whole thing. Before the Derby this year they had some Moto-Cross bikers doing some high flying tricks. They were amazing.

Despite our lousy wet summer, we have been having some great warm sunny weather of late and the day we went to the Fair (Sunday) was no exception. How about you? Does your town/city have an end of summer fair or festival? Did you go? How was it? Was the weather cooperative?

You know, they probably do but I have never checked to see if there are 'end of summer' festivals or fairs going on. That would be something nice to go to before maddy started back at school. I'll check out your photos!

Do we have festivals? DO WE HAVE FESTIVALS?!? Yowsa!
The Hamilton area has so many festivals, seems like there's something happening all summer long. In fact, there are three major festivals plus an annual (neighborhood) street sale all on the first weekend of June! Decisions, decisions!
Two weekends ago, my friend Juanita and I went to the Winona Peach Festival. Last weekend, I went to the Mustard Festival downtown. This weekend there's the Concession Street Cornfest just down the street from me. Did I mention the Greek Festival at the beginning of August? (Lots of good eats!)
Then there's the Saturday Farmer's Market that started up this summer in a church parking lot near here... that'll keep going until the weather ends things.

I think that's in Burlington. Then there's the Cactus Festival in Dundas, and a few on the waterfront... I can't keep up.
