Tell me people, should cell phones or ipods be allowed in class (Below 10th grade)? When I was small I never had a cell phone but I see now days many kids with cell phones. Assuming you were parents (for those who aren't yet) would you give your kids cell phones or ipods at a young age?

I am not in favor of students bringing cellphones to school because it lessen the time they can interact with other real people and also, they are becoming too dependent with it because of its calculation and ineternet feature.

I don't know exactly how old student study in 10th grade. I guess it is same with the student in senior high school. So According to me, student in primary school isn't allow use a celllphone and if they have it, they mustn't take it to school. So I think if I'm a parent, I will give my child a cellphone when they are in 16 years old. Because they are much more understand what is the main function of cellphone and use it wisely. The student below 16 years old in my place use the cellphones as they want. If they have a pulse, they will spend it in one day if they can't or maybe two or three day the pulse is absolutely empty. So they are too lavish using it.

A lot of schools are prohibiting cell phones nowadays. Most young kids even in grammar school have a cell phone so it was getting out of control. I think it´s a good rule for schools although it can be an advantage for us parents. For example, sometimes there´s a lot of traffic and if i´m running late to pick up my kids,I can easily call them and tell them not to worry, i´m on my way. So there are advantages, but maybe kids go a little overboard with the phone thing.

I don't think that children below 10th grade really need a cell phone. They should be consentrating on their school work and not texting or calling their friends while they are at school. The only thing they should need a cell phone for is in case of an emergancy and they need to call their parents. Other than that, I don't think they really need one. They have plenty of time when they get older. They should just be a kid.
