Two Beauties & Myself

This is a shot of me from this past Saturday (8-30) at the Minnesota Renassiance Festival. There are a lot of people that attend this event dressed in that era's type of clothing. Well mostly like the same type of clothijng. very close anyhow. These 2 women were not part of the Festival. They were just attendees like myself. But I asked to get a photo of them with me and they agreed. I also have my walking stick with me in this photo that I did a discussion about. My question(s) are this, do you ever go to a festival of this type at all? Do you ever dress in that era's type of slothes when you go? I haven't, but my daughter has, many times and yes, she does dress up..Last time I believe she came back with a pirate hat..I will have to show her this discussion, she can probably tell you more about it than I can...

I have never been to the festival, but my daughter has and I believe every time she did dress in something..But hers was more like Elizabeth in Pirates of the Caribbean with the pants rather than the dress..

Thanks for the BR..I told my daughter to visit this discussion, but she say that coming here freezes up the computer, I told her to get out of Opera and into IE, because it is slow on IE, but no freezing up..

The one on the left was actually only about 4 foot 10.
They were standing on a wooden bench with me standing between them.

I haven't ever been to one and I'm not sure that I would go all out as those two girls did. I would wear one of the headdresses though. I've made several and have one that I made just for me.

I have tried attending festivals but I will just enjoy watching people dress differently...I haven't tried having my own outfit! LOL! ANyway, those ladies were so tall!

The day I worked the faire in Magnolia I had to come up with something like a costume, can't say it was too right, but it wasn't jeans and a tee either. That's what I wore the years later I went down with a friend, her mom, sister and some friends.

We have something like that here near Dallas. They have it every year but I've never been, mostly because it's always so hot when I want to go or I completely forget about it. It does sound like it would be a lot of fun. I'll have to check it out one of these days.

I bet you had a nice time there, and no I have never been to any places like that and never had to dress in those time, mores the pity because I would reaaly to dress up like in victorian times.

I personaly havent but would love to if they had any around here(savannahGa)i think.Its nice to escape the everyday struggle and just have some fun.Those are some tough lookin chicks just make sure your on their good sides. :P

Hi there...
It sure looks like it was more than your gift for gab that made those women stand all over you... The festival also looks amazingly fun to be a participant of, especially dressed in era clothes. Over here at our neck of the woods, I might say we have a at least 10 festivals every month in all parts of the country. Though I haven't participated in any of them myself, I'm happy just being an onlooker. I would have loved to share some photos of them but I think I'm challenged at such things as photo uploading. Perhaps one day I'll sit down to learn how. Meanwhile thanks for sharing and happy mylotting...
