Do you comment back to a sarcastic and insulting response?

When I was new in mylot, I was really offended and hurt with the negative, sarcastic and insulting responses of others. I have commented to some, but I found out it was not good because it caused heated arguments. But now, I just ignore. It's better to ignore. How about you, do you comment back to those kinds of responses?

I do not respond back if its an insulting response because It is normal to have insulting words. Mylot has less insulting response but compare to youtube- it is a disaster to hear the comments. I respond to the discussion if its important like how to earn money, anything about computers and religion. Just like in real life if someone will comment bad at you just ignored and swallow your pride.

...i've learned my lesson a long time ago regarding this kind of thing. i remember when chatting online was still new and everyone was addicted to it,.. every chat room i've joined in, within 15minutes i was kicked out and banned from the irc itself. just because of some childish and stupid remarks..lol.. so now, i just reserve my snidest remarks to my cynical officemates.. at least we're talking face to face and the best of all is i will not be kick out or banned from the place...lol ...peace to you earthlings!!!

Well of course I will comment back but I will not go down to his level. I can always fight back but still maintaining my poise and dignity. Don't ever flare up when you receive one. Always employ strategy. You can always defend yourself in many ways without necessarily being as rude as he is. If you can make a sense by fighting back then do but always be careful with your words. Just make sure that troll will end up ashamed of himself. Ha!ha!ha!

Hi DJoyce, I am always amazed by how mean some people can be! Well, if their only means of happiness is being nasty to others, how pathetic! I'd choose to ignore them; however that was one idiot whose discussion asked for opinions on his/her topic - so I just posted in my 2 cents worth. He/she disagreed with my opinion (that's ok), but said something about my values & beliefs. I was very mad, and just told the idiot off (as politely and sarcastically as possible). Well, no point in letting them spoil my day!

I was offended in a response, and I didn't respond I just ignored it I felt if I responded it would give the responder fuel to keep going with the offense. It bothered me but I wasn't going to make their day. Nor stoop to their level. I realize there are a lot more good people, to communicate with. In the future I will not respond to any either, I will take a licking and keep on ticking.

i don't even bother to comment back to those people. what would be the point. i know everyone has a opinion and have the right to say what they want. but i don't give them the power to bring me down to their level by being sarcastic or insulting back at them.

hi there! well, you cannot avoid it here in mylot especially if others are being mean to their responses., it really hurts if you read those kind of comments but you have to think it in a positive ways.,or you are right...just ignore it. what matter is you are doing what you supposed to do.,so if you encountered those, maybe the best thing is to ignore., just be what they want to be.,best of luck! have a nice day ahead! see you around! myliezl0903 manila, philippines

well, i always try to comment back nicely. that's always manageable as long as their sarcastic responses is based on my discussions (i mean they really read my whole description and respond based on it). what is really irritating is if the rude response implies that the responder doesn't read the whole discussion, just glance at the subject (which is sometimes tricky and not reflecting the discussion).

I guess it depends. If someone is spouting totally WRONG information, I might comment to make a correction...just so others reading the comments (if they do) don't think the information is correct. Or if the comment is unkind towards another person, I'll probably respond back to defend him/her. But if it's all about me - being a moron or an idiot because of what I believe. Nah. Responding isn't worth my time.

Funny thing. I've survived over 1500 posts with a blue/10 star. Today, I logged on to discover it had changed to red/9. I guess some folks didn't like my passion for Governor Palin. I guess I've finally been initiated.

If I think the comment is insulting and offensive, I have to comment back just to let the person know I was disappointed for his/her comment but of course we must do it in a gentle way to avoid misunderstanding that may result to unwanted situation. We can always give our opinion intelligently and only those who does not care for himself will say bad words and will not take positive criticism.

Nope I refuse to comment on rude, sarcastic, or arrogant discussion. In fact, I just recently deleted religion from my interests because those discussions tended to be so attacking and judgmental. I commented on a discussion and received a barrage of responses on why I was stupid or closed minded about what I believe. I didn't continue to argue. I think religious are interesting but hardly want to participate in faith bashing discussions.

I've never encountered such an experience before but I think the mylotters who post rude and insulting responses have nothing better to do. They think that more responses = more earnings, but that's false. A few quality and longer responses would generate more money than tons of one lined posts. Those people who post rude responses should just not waste time posting more rubbish but use time to improve on their posts. If I see a rude response like that, I will probably just ignore. It's usually only 1 lined responses. If it's very long and insulting, mylot will delete that post.

Most of the time, I ignore sarcastic or mean remarks. There are days that I am in a sarcastic mood, myself so I will respond in kind. However, for the most part, my sarcastic side only comes out with people who know me well. I am never mean in my responses to anyone. At least I try not to be.*S*

No, I don't. I don't want to stress myself out. If he/she is insulting then I won't stoop down to his level. I'm not rude so why should I change my behavior because of other people's rudeness? Just ignore those comments, but so far, I find mylotters supportive and polite. All the best.
