Do you believe in 'predictions' and fortune tellings?

While me and my friends are in a coffee shop, an old lady suddenly approach us. She said if we want to 'fortune tell' our futures. Being adventurous we readily agreed with old lady. I'm just happy that I'm gonna be finishing my college and proceed to medicine. I never wanted to be a doctor, but that is what the old lady tell us. She also mentioned about my illness, endometriosis... which I didn't mention, she said I can able to overcome it... I ought not to believe in all those things she told us, It all depends on me after all... How about you? Have you ever encounter such things? Do you believe in what she or he said about your future? Thanks for responding mylotters...

Hi, good discussion. I was born with the gift of clairaudience (hearing) and clairvoyance (seeing). The lady was nice to come up to you like that. Often i don't go up to people, i did when i was younger, but these days people are more closeminded. I usually just keep it to myself. If i get asked, sure, i will be forthcoming with information.

Thank you snowberries!! I thought I was the only one here on MyLot. I was born with the gift of clairaudience and the ability to hear those that have passed. I'm not clairvoyant (and most times I'm happy about that lol). I use to keep this to myself because I thought that it made me some kind of "freak" or that it was anti-christ. Then one day I realized that it wasn't...instead it was a wonderful gift from God and like any gift should be treasured. I use to do readings on PalTalk all the time but people would stalk me from room to room demanding my attention. I do have about 20 people that I do readings for on a constant basis for pay. Do you charge for your readings? I know that it's a big discussion amoung psychics.

Nice to see a fellow clair on here haha :) Yes i did let it slip on another forum once and i had the same reaction as you, people kept pm'ing me for a reading. I have clients who visit me regularly. My main work is Reiki, so i charge $50/hr but i give a reading during the time as well. If people want to just have a reading i accept payment by donation, whatever they want to pay me, and i use the money from that to further my studies in a particular area, or to buy a good book. It is a gift from god, it's a great gift, but i don't see why we shouldn't be paid for our time in some form or another. I have no problem with other psychics actually getting paid for their time, but when they start charging very high prices i do. I've seen some people pay over $100 for half an hour which i think is ridiculous. It should be accessible to people who want it at a reasonable price. :)

i don't believe on predictions or fortune tellers. if they are true why can't they predict what is the winning number for lotteries... i mean, this people only tells the obvious things. natural things that happens to people. what i do believe is that only God knows what's ahead of us. and things that happens to us is affected by our own decision makings! we are the ones who can say what will be our future, since we are the ones who does an action.

The truly gifted ones would know about the winning numbers of the lottery. But it's sort of one of the restrictions of clairvoyance. They are not supposed to take advantage of their gift in order to further themselves financially, much less help someone else further their greed for money. The consequences of this would be very grave. Plus it's a rare gift, only the chosen ones have it. My friend told me she knows of someone who has the gift of telling what would happen to one's future. But he would always remind people he would not answer questions about winning lottery numbers even if he knows it himself. He knows but he's not rich apparently up to this date.

I do believe that there are psychic people, but I don't think you should take everything they say literally. Your future is yours to decide. If she said something that encouraged you to proceed to medicine, the choice is still yours. As for your illness, it's not unusual for a psychic to see illness and to see that you will be able to overcome, again an encouragement, not prediction. I put the same stock in psychics as in tarot cards. What they tell you are only guidelines to help you make decisions, not hard and fast, set in stone facts. You are still the master of your own fate.

I do believe in those. I know someone who has a gift and can tell about the future. I didn't believe it at first but it happened. I was warned but I did not believe so I did not mind but it happened to me so I really got upset on why I did not listen. These kind of people are I think gifted. Besides I was thinking also that you can't lose anything if you believe and listen to what a clairvoyant tells you. It's still you who can control our life.

Well,I really don't like to believe but sometimes it happens that whatever those people tells you, comes true even in real life.I have a friend she never believe in such things, now she started believing after one such incident. She was suppose to leave home on one particular day for her interview and she brought her bus ticket, somebody warned her not to go on that day,she didn't want to listen but she had to and guess what, the bus met with an accident and almost all the people got badly hurt and few even lost their lives. When I think about such real happenings in life I want to believe it,otherwise I am not into such beliefs.

i havent tried somebody foretelling me about what's going to happened about my future.. i havent really tried that. i wanted to but somehow, thinking about it makes me a little scared. i am scared that the fortune teller will tell me something that's total opposite of what and how i wanted my future to be. also, i am afraid that i might believe too much on what the fortune teller would tell me and try to live my life as to what she or he will say.. so i just keep the future unknown to me.. and pray with guidance from the father that i will be able to achieve my dreams... and everything will be happy for me and my family..

Frankly, I don't believe in "predictions", well..we are the one who decide for our future, we are the one who make our own destiny. I once predict to be like this and that, and in the end I believe it's not true because I have proven this all through my life. I made some mistakes in my life and this is due to my carelessness and immaturity but those predictions never happen. Maybe I just drove the wrong way but then I am thankful that i turned back. I think it's not our lost If we are going believe those things but just an advice don't take it seriously.

Yes I still believe in predictions by the astrologers/palmists and numerologists some time their predictions are correct. One thing more I want to add that some meditating people like saints have intuition( deep vision) and when they are in intuition what ever they say that become definite. I have an experience and the prediction was correct to me. How do u see it please comment.

I do not believe in things such as fortune tellings and psychics. I do however no a lot of people that do believe. My father is a big believer in this sort of things. He has a regular psychic that he goes and sees about once a month. He says that a lot of the things she has told him has came true. Some of the things hasnt but some has.

i met a fortune teller more than ten years ago and my life goes just as he has predicted. so i believe there are really people in the world who can foretell what will happen in the future. do you know the story of Oedipus who cannot avoid the doom of killing his father and then marrying his mother.

Hi there my beloved friend! Miss you... Well, I have been through palm reading, and I honestly, I couldn't help but believe it somehow. There's still doubts in the back of my mind but still I take the predictions positive, maybe it can be great help for me to be able to reach my goal, it gives me reasons to strive more harder to reach for my dreams... Fortune Telling is not bad at all...just don't let yourself into it... Aim High!

it did happen the same with me too many times. But i think all this is playing with our weakness. If you have will power you can achieve whatever you can. Some people like this later come again saying that they will do some help for us and to give some money for that. All this though appears true is not at all advisable to follow to believe. I just say that we must have belief and confidence in ourself rather then others words.

Hi, I believe in Astrology and I use it in everyday life, sometimes make decisions if my transits, solar and natal charts suggest positive outcome, but I can't avoid negative influences as well. This year (solar chart) I have Uranus in house 5 and when I had Uranus in house 5 too, I broke up with my boyfriend. It was in the stars! Recently my Jupiter crossed my MC (house 10) and I expected positive changes at work. Now I have good transits for work, good solar and lunar for work matters and I have had quite a lot good work offers. Astrology works and I use it, will use it and trust it.
