I am watching the Republican Convention. This is becoming a HUGE annoyance to me. Why is it that Both parties get the most speaking in regards to "slinging Mud" Is everyone else as annoyed at this as I am. I am watching this and not learning a thing about the individual except that they are not following the kindergarden teachers rule. If you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all.

I am getting annoyed by both parties. I am a democrat, but I watched both conventions and I also voted for McCain for senator but I am not happy with the campaign he is running or his running mate. The things that I liked about him and compeled me to cross party lines (something I rarely do) are no longer there. But the Democrats are just as bad, but at this point not as bad in my book!

I agree with that as well, but from the perspective that I think it is used as a decoy to get people swayed one way or another. I am a person of faith, and I am so disappointed in the way "christianity" is portraying itself.

What bothers me the most is the fact the Republicans keep bringing politics into the campaign! I have nothing against relgion or being religous but to me the seperation of church and state is the basis of our government. For them to always be talking about faith is irratating! There always saying this is what the country was founded on. But thats not true! The founding farther were not all relgious! Many had no affiliations, the rest varried! Particulary Jefferson who had alot of dislike for Christianity! I think they are taking away from the basis of our constitution by doing this and I think its unfare to the many people that don't share the same faith!

It's a political thing. If you point out what's wrong with your opponent, more people will think you're the right choice even though you haven't said much about your policies. It's wrong, yes. But it also works, which is why so many politicians do it.

Yes, and I had no idea that is what the tactic was. I actually read somewhere that, all the junk out there that is being said isnt even seen as truthfull statements. Its just to avoid talking about the actual veiws and being pinned down making people lose their faith in what the parties are saying.

I agree. I don't like all the bashing back and forth between the two parties. It's going to be a long couple of months before we get to vote. I'm already tired of hearing all this political stuff. Wish people could get along and not talk so bad about each other.

It has been a long process, more so this year than I can remember. I think maybe because there is so much riding on this election.

i'm so discusted with politics!! sorry had to say it. i really am tired of all the childishness of this election. i know very little about either of the candidates. all i hear is HE is doing this HE is doing that. what about I am doing this and I am doing that? stop talking about your oponent and start talking about yourself!! right? i have heard very little on the issues. neither of them will even really answer the questions about whats important. they dance around them like they don't even know where they themselves stand. i may not even vote this term because i want an adult to be in office not a child. what are they teaching our children by their behavior? i could go on forever about how annoyed i am by this so i'll stop now. thanks for posting this discussion, i needed to vent.

I totally agree with you. I wish that there was a way that we could strike the voting. I feel so burned out about the whole thing. And the truth thing. That just blows my mind its totally ridiculous how they are playing these games. I was thinking that too we tell them not to lie and not to talk about people, answer a question when you are asked etc.....I just dont get it. I guess its all bets and values are off when it comes to politics huh?
