My son's school still throws the UNDER GOD part in when they say the Pledge of Allegiance at school. The original Pledge of Allegiance did not have the words UNDER GOD in it at all. In its original form it read: "I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." In 1923, the words, "the Flag of the United States of America" were added. In 1954, in response to the Communist threat of the times, President Eisenhower encouraged Congress to add the words "under God,"

It doesn't bother me. I quit saying the Pledge when I was a kid, once I learned the definition of pledge (it means to promise). Why must I promise the same thing every day? They can do away with the entire pledge it won't bother me none
