When should couples move in together?

I have been with my significant other for 2 and a half years now and I am just wondering when we should decide to move in together? We live in the same city now, and within walking distance from each other place. Is the next logical step moving in together? Who has been here before?

I think this is something you should talk with your SO about. It's a very big step to take and guaranteed it will either make your relationship stronger or weaken it. So really ask yourself, what do YOU feel about moving in together? What are your thoughts? It should feel right for the both of you. Good luck. :)

I mean, we have talked about it, but its a very touchy issue. I bring up what our friends our doing and when they move in and that always hits a sensitive point. I just wondered if I was being overly cautious.

If it's a sensitive topic to talk about then I'd say your SO isn't ready for it yet. Though the fact that your apartments are within walking distance is a step in the right direction. Maybe if you could find out the reason (if you don't already know) for the hesitation it would help further things. When you do, what kind of steps can you take to address the issue.
