I am hoping to minimise shedding with regular brushing. I have read that a slicker brush is best for removing excess hair from pugs-just wanting to know what you guys all recommend?

Hi CoffeeShot, Yeah this is one I think that all us Pug owner's would like to know I have 2 pug's myself and I think with all the hair that they shed each day that I could make another pug with it...!!! Drives you insane. I have tried a few different brushes and though they seem to remove heaps of the hair if you touch the pug you still get more hair it just never ends with them. My 2 love it when we go out into the backyard and I get the brushes out and we start brushing and they think its a game and start chasing the big balls of hair that come flying off them and then they get jealous coz while you are doing one the other wants to done at the same time too, what my seem to love the must though is when I just use my fingers as combs and run them along their body and this removes alot of the hair and the dogs think they are getting a massage and they really do push each other out of the way to get that done to them they just love it! But that Loshed sounds very interesting might have to go to the pet store and see if I can get some thanks for that trip....

Yes I have another dog who sheds like a maniac as well! i am reading a pug book at the moment and it says that some people actually vaccuum their pugs in peak shedding season because they just can not take it! I can imagine them getting jealous and both of them trying to climb on your lap at the same time for a brush!
