If you saw someone once, would you be able to recognise them again???

Last week whilst I was working, a customer was glaring at me and then asked 'If my niece went to Norton school?' I replied 'yeah but she not my niece, shes my boyfriends'. She then replies 'I thought I recognised you from there'. I told her she had a fantastic memory as I had only been there once and that was in January!!!! 7 months later she recognised me from seeing me at the school.
So if you saw someone would you be able to recognise them and recall where you saw them from???
Im good at recognising faces but not too sure if I would be able to recall where I saw them from. I didnt even recognise this woman from school only as a customer in the store I work. Would you be amazed if someone recognised you from 7 months ago from a place you had only been once??? Would you be freaked out???

No I wouldn't recognise them, I meet so many people in my everyday life that I don't always remember every single person (and it must be the same for you!). I hope she wasn't angry that you didn't immediately recognise her. I would most definitely be freaked out.

No she wasnt angry with me. I told her she had good memory as I had only been there once!! I wasnt freaked out as I sometimes recognize people from places but then people recognise me when Im working at other stores and I dont recognise them but then the amount of people I serve everyday I cant be expected to remember them all.

Hi Cinderella, I have a memory for faces so would know I had seen the person before but wouldn't have any idea where or when. People have come up to me before now and said hello wern't you at such and such on ........months ago and it does take me by suprise but I wouldn't be freaked out by it. Ellie :D

I am the same also ellie, remember faces but struggle to remember where from!! I was very surprised when she said she recognised me from the school like 7 months ago. I wasnt freaked out, more surprised.

I am not very good in recognize people. Usually I won't remember if I meet a person for 1st time. After knowing for more than times than only I remember them. I always experience people calling my name and saying hello. I didn't remember if I know them.

i hardly ever forget a face. if i can't remember who they are or where i have seen them i just ask them. not going to come home & worry about it & i do. you can get by w/that when u are old like me.that gives them something to talk about like omg she's losing it.lol

Generally If meet some person suddenly and we become sharing views on any thing and if we meet again after a long time I can recognize that person in moment.Similarly if you are outlet owner or you are sales man in a store, hundreds and thousands people come their for shopping it is difficult to recognize each and every person. Yes if you have some personal discussions,and intimation you can recognize.

I never spoke to her at the school though, I have only spoken to her when she comes in to do her shopping!! Some customers comment about something that happened last time they were in and it takes me a while to remember what they are talking about as they dont come in regularly and I didnt recognise them.

Yup, i have very good memory on remembering and recognizing ple ^_^ MAybe it's due to i used to work in the F&B industry, that i need to memorize customers orders and their faces, that i become accustomed to it.. ANd so if i saw the person once no matter where, i will surely recognize the person and also know where i've seen them b4 ^_^
hehe =D especially when i'm out eating in cafes all that, they tend to have internal reshufflement, and if i see any familiar faces, i will know and talk to them, most of the time, they will appear shock.. lol
