When i heard new a song played in the radio, i look forward on the lyrics of the song first, then the artist and the melody. I like most when there is a story behind the song that i can relate with like the song of luther vandross "ill rather" and "with you" by cris brown. How about you? What makes you like a song?

It has to be the music, if it has a good tune and a good beat then I will listen to the rest of it. The words of songs these days are not as good as they used to be, so I rarely pay attention to them unless it is of a group that I really like. I like dance music a lot so it has to have a really good beat to it.

Just like you I like a song with lyrics that tell a story ans which is not just repesting and repeating itself over and over again and of course the melody to which the lyrics are sung. i like ballads and standard songs like the songs of karen Carpenter and barbra Streisand more than rock and i also like danceable songs like the songs of the beegees, abba and of course i love oldies but goldies.

Unless I'm listening to instrumental music, I'm very picky about the lyrics and message of the song. The lyrics and message are most important and the artist/band as well (some artists/bands tend to write meaningful songs while others do not). If the singer has a good voice, that helps, but it is by no means necessary.

I consider the message the song has for mankind.I consider also the tune or melody. Then I also place great emphasis upon the interpreter of the song, how he/she sung the song and the quality of his/her voice.

Hi there Margarit!
Usually, it's the melody of the song that catches my attention first and if I can
clearly understand the lyrics, it can sometimes call my attention too. Also, there are some instances, when the video or the song gets controversial, or if it's a new single of a certain music artist, I get intrigued and listen to it.
My current favorite song is Hate that I Love You. I love the melody and its lyrics too.

I like American dramas. The theme songs are always good.
I guess, the drama is the point. If I didn't watch it, and I heard the song, I wouldn't think it so special

I will love a song if it has a good lyrics in it, the contents must really have some meaning especially to you, so that you could connect to it. The tune would just be the finishing touch to it. But they should be complementing each other, meaning they should be able to move the listeners. I love classic songs because of their lyrics and melody. And also love songs.

I usually never go to listen to the lyrics of the song or seek the deep inner meaning of the song as such. I check out for the tune the beats, fast or slow number and sometimes quality of voice. Those are the factors which basically make me judge a song whether I'd like it or not.
