children watching cartoons....

my son is just 2yrs old and when i use to have some work i use to sometime ask my son to watch cartoon but my son now continuously want to watch cartoon.
everytime he comes to me and ask me to put on the cartoon channel and i really dont want him to watch tv so much.
how about you mothers and fathers do you experience the same with your children?
and what you do to stop them watching cartoon or tv?

My children watch cartoons also, but I try to make sure that they watch programs like Disney or Noggin. The shows they watch teach them about counting, colors, animals, cooking, some Spanish and Chinese language, arts and crafts. I try to make sure it is not violent and is something that they can learn from. I grew up watching cartoons and television and I really see nothing wrong with it as long as you monitor their viewing choices.

yes you are right that if we monitor them in watching right things but continuously for long hours is really not good as it may effect their eyes and can cause them health problems. sitting at one place and watching tv is not good because childrens have to be all the time active and have play to excise their body well and its very important specially for growing childrens.
