Robin Smith at the Tennessee & Alaska Republican breakfast just said that Sarah Palin is "essentislly Ronald Reagan in heels." Do you agree with Smith's assessment?

I do not agree with it. Sarah Palin probably has ideas that Reagan never did. But they both had good personalities. I have no ideas what Sarah is like, but from what I heard she is a nice lady and she is good at her task as governor of Alaska.

I guess you do need a strong personality to overcome the Obamamites. I mean a weak women could be overwhelmed by him. Oh thanks for the best response.

The only comparison that might be made is both Reagan and Palin have strong personalities and a good deal of charisma, but that could be said about a lot of politicians. There's not a lot to compare between them.

No. Although Ronald Reagan wore more make up Sarah Palin is much better looking and he was better at telling lies. So no it isn't a good comparison. Why can't Sarah Palin be who she is? Why does she have to be someone else?

I think Smith's comparison was made as to Ronald Reagan being a well loved figure among republican presidents. Everyone wants to compare up and comers to him because he is viewed as one of the most popular presidents ever. Sarah Palin has a great political identity in her own right, and it is getting better by the day in my opinion. Thanks for your input.

Actually, she potentially is better than Reagan.

Palin probably won't be influenced as much by the old republican machine as Reagan was. I'm expecting great things from her.

No I do not agree, there will only be one Ronald Reagan. Sarah Palin is Sarah Palin, there is nothing wrong with that though. Conservatives must stop looking for the next Ronald Reagan. When God made Reagan he broke the mold, but we made a pretty good one in Sarah.

I think people like to compare up and coming political figures to Reagan because he was one of the most loved and respected Republican presidents of all time. Sarah is her own person with lots of potential and I am eager to see how she will carve out her own image as time goes by. Thanks for your input.
