now that you've heard her speak? Are you more or less likely to vote for McCain? And there is the 900-pound Bristol gorilla that won't leave the room. That has gotta hurt. Do you think that will hurt McCain's chances? Angus Koolbreeze III, Obama supporter

I'm far less likely to vote for McCain. I don't like the woman, and I don't like her policies. I don't like that she's against civil liberties, pro-gay discrimination, and willingness to put religion in places it doesn't belong. She once tried to BAN books, and fired a librarian who outright refused to go along with the ban. I know why McCain got her - he needed a neo-con to attract the evangelical voters, and a woman to attract some of the Hillary voters. He found one.

I am definitely more likely to vote for Senator McCain as a result of his choosing governor Palin. I think she is an excellent choice. From what I have seen and heard about Governor Palin so far, I am very impressed. Personally, I think that she has the potential to be an American Margaret Thatcher who will turn the nation away from the socialist policies of FDR and the Democrats and set the nation on a new course. It should be remembered that following Lady Thatcher's left Number 10 Downing St. that not only had Great Britain and the Conservative Party moved well to the right of the socialist policies that had crippled the UK following World War II but also resulted in the Labor Party under Tony Blair, Gordon Brown and others, moving to the right of the pre-Thatcher Conservative Party and even to the right of the old Nelson Rockefeller wing of the Republican Party in the U.S. Governor Palin is definitely a person to watch and admire.

I would have voted for McCain anyway, but I feel that selecting Sarah Palin as his running mate has pretty much cinched the election for the Republican Party. Hearing her speak just added more positive to an already great picture.
