Abortion

I was just wondering what your opinion was on abortion. I see shows on television about abortion and it just makes me think how people can do it. when I think about it makes me think that it is the same as killing a living being, and that's illegal. I'm not trying to sound mean and I not trying to make people mad with this post, I was just wondering how many people agree with the fact that abortion should be made illegal.

Abortion is so despicable, I don't know why they should do such thing. Especially those who performs this abortion. Even if its an early pregnancy or you were raped by your relatives or whoever. Who are you to take one's life. It's not his/her fault that you have experienced this. He/she is not a curse but a gift that I think you should be proud of. There are a lot of people out there who wants to have a child but they can't and you have been given such a gift that I think you should cherish. Those abortionist should be jailed for doing such act. Killing an innocent child is not an act of a sane person but of a fool who is trying to escape the reality of life.

Not everyone thinks pregnancy is a gift or that a fetus is a child. No one is obligated to agree with you.

I would definitely say that this was a sensitive topic! There are cases whereby some people would think that abortion is the correct approach. Let's take one example. Supposing a woman is raped, horrendus as this is, and she gives birth to a child as a result of that rape! What happens to the baby? Well, if she didn't want a baby in the first place then I believe that it's entirely appropriate for her the give the baby up for adoption. What I think is wrong is, she shouldn't terminate the pregnancy if she has been raped! There is still a tiny human life within her womb! She should have the baby and give it up for adoption. It's not the babies fault! Neither is it the mother's! Now, if it's a question of whether one has to survive without the other, then what is the appropriate thing to do? If the mother is told that her life would be at risk by having the baby, then I think the pregnancy should be terminated without question. I think it would be wrong for the baby to survive and have the mother die! This is definitely a powerful subject! I don't know what it is like for a woman to go through this, I can only guess at what I deem to be the most appropriate thing to do given the circumstances. Definitely an interesting discussion. Sure thing. I guess it's definitely a very traumatic experience for any woman to have to go through. Andrew

No, you are right and I do see your view point. Sadly, there is that fact about the woman having to carry the baby for nine months or so. I guess there's no real answer to this issue. Only the woman herself can do what she thinks to be right at the time. Still, as horrible as it is, there's a tiny human life involved! If there is some way that the scientists can come up with some kind of method whereby the baby could be prevented from growing in the first place, then this would be ideal! This sounds ridiculous I know but if the baby could be prevented from becoming a fetus, or abortion could be carried out extremely early, then this might be an option. Andrew

I am pro-life because I think all babies are innocent and therefore deserve to live. Think of all the people in the world and how some of these have been wonderful like Mother Teresa and William Shakespeare. What if they hadn't been born? I think some things in life are sad like war for example and abortion is terribly sad too. The baby that is aborted has no choice. I read a poem about a pregnancy and it said on day 1 ... and so on until the day her mum aborted her. A school friend got pregnant at 20 years old and she had an abortion. She told me she felt her baby kick so she must have had quite a late abortion. I don't know how a lady can go through with abortion. It can be painful I have heard and it can lead to a lady getting depressed later in her life. No amount of money will turn the clock back, what is done as far as abortion is concerned is final. The baby will be gone but the memories will remain. I know that abortion is illegal in Ireland and so ladies come to England to get one if they wish to do so. In a developing country were it is illegal abortions might only cost ten dollars but be done in dirty conditions. Sadly some bad things do still go on even though they are illegal. I respect other people's ideas but I would never choose to have an abortion. No way. Best wishes to you.

Abortion like all situations have pros and cons. Apart from the fact that a potential mother's life becomes at stake when she does this and the possibility of infertility iminent, it is entirely her choice or whosoever else helps with the decision making. Have you ever though about the children that have been brought into this world and left to fend for themselves against the unpredictable elements of life? Who cares for them, guides them or shows them love? Here comes the rise of unwanted pregnancies, increased criminality and general momentum of despair and hopelessness. Reality is reality, it great that you are a real humanitarian but which do you prefer to have?

i agree with you totally that abortion should made illegal, people should be responsible of their actions as well as the consequences but i also think that before we crucify they who have abortions we should look at the person situation or reason for the decision because i dont think any woman will wake up and say okay 'this foetus just have to go' for example incases of rape i think we might be too harsh to expect the victim to raise the child or incases of terminal diseases where it also affects the foetus then it would unfair to say that the mother should carry it to full term

I disagree with abortion as I can't imagine ending a life , a life I started . There are ways to protect one's self from getting pregnant and if you should get pregnant even protecting yourself there are always options . I for one tried to have a baby for years . I had my first couple of children and then was told I could never have another baby again . It broke my heart when I heard cases about teenagers having babies and aborting them when there were people out there like myself who would have given anything to be the one who was pregnant and would love to give a baby a home , any baby !! Although I do completely disagree with abortions , I do try and see the other side and do see in some cases where abortion may feel like the only option such as if someone was raped . Although it is true they can still give this child up for adoption , one can't say what this would do to a person's self worth after being raped and all that they would have to endure with being pregnant in such a case , unless you were raped you could never say for certain how this would affect even if you strongly oppose abortion and so I can see this side of it , also if a child were to become pregnant and it would put the child's life at risk , then I can see aborting the baby . It is sad when a child is seen pregnant but the fact is it does happen and when it comes to the life of a 13 or 14 year old that be in danger if they carried a baby to term then I would have to look at all the facts . I don't agree with it as a way out of a bad situation though . If you knew what you were doing and went ahead with it , then you know what the risks are and if one gets pregnant then they should face the consequences of their actions . There are so many people out there that would give anything to take a child into their home and who are unable to have their own children . I was lucky and was able to have more of my own but it took many years and even with that , I still took a teenage girl into our home when things were not going good in her own home life and her mom called me and asked me if I wanted to take her . I do agree that abortion should be made illegal but there should be a clause that would be in the minority that if proven that it would be detrimental to the person's health to carry this child to term that abortion would be an option but only for those few cases .

Personally I wouldn't do it as I wouldn't be able to kill my own child. However the choice should be there, some people would end up taking drastic action if the option wasn't there. That would cause more problems if it was made illegal.

I am pro-life all the way. When you get an abortion you are ending a life. I wish people would just accept that. If you were pregnant and if someone did something to you that caused you to lose the baby it would be considered murder but if you go and kill your baby its ok? wtf?
