past is past

Yes you are right. A past is a past, and there's nothing that we can do for now to change the past. But the past is not yet the past whenever you have some unfinished business there. If you still have something that you should finish, you can't run from your past. You have the responsibility to finish what you've done in the past. Let's take an example from a true story: My friend got her GF pregnant few years ago, and after he knew that the girl was pregnant, the girl ran away to the other country. She never came back since. For some people it's just the past. But what if someday a kid come to my friend and say that he is the father? Would it still be a past then? Would you say that it was just a past? When something is done well in the past, it was only the past. But when it is linked to the future, you're not passing the past yet...
