How much did you pay for the mattress you sleep on?

Before we got married my hubby and I bought a bed. That is the mattress, boxspring frame and headboard. That was a decade ago. It cost us around $600. It is time to at least replace the mattress. We were shocked. $1,300 dollars for just the mattress. And that was at an outlet store. We didn't find much during the Labor day sales that we liked. So we will keep looking.Don't you think the price is a bit high?

The bed we got when we married is long gone it was used to begin with. The bed we have now is one my mom bought had for about 6 months then gave to us because she decided to move to New Mexico and couldn't take it with her since they only took what they could put in a van. That wasn't alot since my brother and girlfriend and 3 kids went with them in the van. The Queen size bed we now cost my mom since it was brand new about $900 dollars and that is just mattress and box springs nothing else. We have had it for about 3 years. It is still in great shape we keep flipping the mattress as it says every 3 months and so it takes alot of the wear and tear down to a minimum.

I don't know if it is like this everywhere but the cheaper the bed usually means the cheaper it is made and then it ends up only lasting a few month to a year before bed springs start popping and poking through. I have had a few of those types of mattress's A cheap made twin mattress here in KY is $125 dollars for the mattress. More if it is bigger the bigger the bed the more it cost like adding a hundred per size bigger..When selecting a good mattress it will sometimes cost more but last much longer in the long run .

$1,300 just for a mattress? Luckily I have my aunt who knows how to make one so I don't really have to pay for it because she is giving it out to us for free.
