At times I have a difficult time sleeping. I don't use pills or medication. I usually stay up later and do some writing on the computer. What do you do when you can't fall asleep?

Depends, if I really need to sleep I take something to sleep, like night before an interview or something. But if it doesn't matter how late I sleep the next day, I may lay there for a while and think, or watch tv or read. Sometimes I get on the computer. They say if you can't sleep after 15 minutes or so you should get up and do something. If I followed that I'd never sleep cause it usually takes me at least 1/2 hour to an hour to get to sleep.

Hi, it depends. If it's a weekday, my sleeplessness is most probably due to some anxiety regarding the next day's work. So I'd read until I'm tired. If it's a weekend - then it's fine. I'd spend my sleepless either on the computer, watching TV or Dvds, or reading!

Sometimes it happens to me too. In this situation I read a book or simply listen to the music. Sometimes I watch some movie.

I think if you can´t sleep and doother stuff like turning on your tv or computer it only contributes more to you not being able to sleep. I think that just like babies we should try to have an atmosphere that encourages us to sleep. Keep the lights off, don´t have any distractions near you, put on some nice music to get you to sleep. Maybe a cupof tea could help you, There are some natural remedies also in case you don´t like taking meds.
