Modem firewalls

Hey guys. I just recently upgraded my internet service plan and it came with a wireless plan package. So my modem has been changed and i got a router. But now i have an internal firewall that blocks out certain apps i use. Any ideas on how to bypass or disable it? The brand of the router is d-link
