No. I am sure Walmart researched this and found out they are loosing money on the layaway desk. I don't understandlayaways though. Wouldn't it be better for these folks to save $10 or $20 a week and put it in a jar than to put the items on laway and pay a little every week? If they started in Janaury and saved $20 a paycheck knowing that is how much they will spend on layway they would have the money to out right buy all the items and not have to deal with laways and fees and paying on the items weekly. Seems like it would save a lot of time, gas, and money.

The reason for using the lay-a-way for me was that if I saw something I wanted and didn't have quite enough money I could still get it. If i waited until I had enough money it would be gone.

i dont think the no layaways will hurt them at all.. as a matter of fact they are saving money on man power as well as money on storage containers for all the layaway (specially during the holiday season) however i think alot of folks rely on the layaway during the holidays.. so IMO i think they should bring layaway back but only for christmas time.. maybe from October till December.
