why some people they want to do ragging in their college ?

In India, ragging is banned by the supreme court and we should not break the law..it is not right. But in the medical college where i studied,there has always been ragging though it's much less now compared to our times then. when we r ragged,we hate it but when it's over, we feel like doing the same thing to the younger ones. The good part was no one's allowed to lay hands on anybody and every senior respects that boundary.but looking at ragging as a whole, what's beneficial about it?certainly we can get to know each other through means other than forced introductions,dancing, verbal abuse etc.

Yeah ragging is still there in every college I'm not worried that much but if they trouble me much I have some seniors at my side to kick them hard. It wouldn't be good if it's comletely banned as but when it's out of control then it's the time to stop it. Luckily my whole class has some unity in the dress code issue so we can walk freely without any problem.

Hi nasohail3, I have been in two colleges that had ragging. During the ragging, of course i felt bad and i wanted to cry. I kept asking why are they doing this. They say it just part of the college orientation and has always had ragging involve since even when our parents went to college. In other words, it's tradition that has turned to be a routine every year for the freshie. Moreover, the seniors usually say that they had been "ragged" before by their seniors. So now they have their chance and the 'victims' of the ragging will also have their chance during their final year. The positive views are that ragging is suppose to build a relationship to the seniors, school and new colleagues. It will end up being fun. We should not take it seriously. If you think back about it in later years, you will laugh about it. Happy mylotting :)
