Someone you werent close with, you knew who they were. Would you sell stories to the press and cash in?? Spill all their embarrassing stories, say if they bullied you and made you school life hell?? Would you just forget about the past and wish them well??
Would you follow their famous life, listen to what they are upto??

I would wish them well. There are quite a number of people I went to school with who became famous. Wishing someone bad or doing ill things for money will only fall back on you. Take care and God Bless!

It would depend what I knew and how much I stood to gain from spilling! Oh I have no loyalties as far as school friends go, I had to fight to gain any sort of position at school and even then it was always so tenuous, so I would definately spill my guts! No, I would not follow their life, famous people I have no interest in at all anyway!

Oh yes, in fact it would not surprise me if they did not even really remember me. I realise now that I was quite insignificant at school!

Yes I suppose it would depend on what you knew, who the person was and what they were famous for!! I dont think I would have any loyalties either, a story is a story. We sell our life stories to magazines so why not sell stories about people from school. They would probably deny it anyway or say that they never knew you at all!!!

When will I, will I be famous? I know a few celebs and no I have never ever sold stories to the press or cashed in on it at all. In fact the nearest I have got was to say that even in the morning Cliff Richard has a shadow with his beard but that was because he used to do our school assemblies sometimes when I was a child as he was friends with our RE teacher and that I said on here. The other name dropping bit I guess even thoug we are related to a few well knowns was when Gordan Ramsey got put through his paces at the marine camp I work at but that was about to be shown on national TV on the F word and all I gave away was that he got a bit wet. These people are people and entitled to a life and also to have made mistakes when young and I hate it when the press drags all this up. I was such a wild child that is why I choose to retreat rather than succeed I guess LOL, just couldn't take the publicity. Ellie :D

Its nice that you are so honest. What about if someone from your school who you really despises became famous would you sell any stories?? Some celebrities do things to get into the spotlight and others avoid it which I praise them for. People moan about having the press following them but yet they do nothing to avoid them!!

Hi Cinderella, I hear what you are saying about some celebs and yes they thrive on the publicity when it is good but start scremaing loud if negative, they can't have it both ways if they choose to ar it all in public and like you say some manage to lead a very private life but still be very successful so there really is no need for a lot of it eh! Ones I despised for being how there were then, still no as people change at different stages in their life and I would let bygones be bygones. The only time I get NOT NICE is when someone affects my kids in some way and then I would not be responsible for what I said or done really but if just a childhood idiot no I still wouldn't sell the story. What goes around comes around. Ellie :D

that happened to a friend of me, not me but I can say the things accordingly to him. I think there is nothing to do if you don't have a contact with him or her for a long time and I don't think it would be nice to find a way to contact him or her after he or she has become famous.
A friend of me at university told me that the famous Turkish football player Arda Turan is a friend of him from primary, and even secondary school (if I don't remember wrong) and he said they were sitting next to each other in the class and they were very good friends.
but this is all he has, I mean I don't think he has a contact with Arda Turan now, and in last competition Euro 2008 his star shone brightly and he became world wide famous and we read from the newspapers that many clubs, especially itallians are interested in buying Arda Turan.
I think that would feel a little sad since we haven't achieved anything even close to the half of the stuff he has done so far. I mean, financially. You know, in europe and Turkey, soccer players are earning soo much money and it is always better than being an engineer or even a world wide genius., what a shame.
by the way, I am neither an engineer nor a genius yet but that doesn't change the fact.

i would try to be happy for them. no, i wouldn't sell stories about them . we never knowwhat is going onbehind closed doors w/people. they might of been having a real rough time when they were growing up. i just hope they realize what they did & try to make up for it by doing good things when they becone famous. none of us are perfect. think there is a good reason for people to act like that but we may never know what itwas. as long as they improvr in their adult life that should help/

Wishing them well is the best thing to do. Theres no point spreading stories about them. It will just make you look bitter of there success. Instead of letting the past haunt you why not move on the present time where in you can do more productive things and make a better life for yourself.
