When : September 6th Read a Book Day is today. Take time out of your busy life, and relax with a good book. Cozy up on a chair, indoors or out. It doesn't matter where you read that book, as long as you can do so in a comfortable manner. If you doze off along the way, we won't tell anyone. Reading is a great lifetime hobby. It offers so many positive attributes. It's relaxing and therapeutic. It's educational. Its entertaining. And, a whole lot of other good things, too. If you have young children, or elderly people in your home, take the time to read a book to them today. It is a wonderful time to bond with them and it creates pleasant, lasting memories. ******* I am reading the second book in a series by Fern Michaels about the Sisterhood and how they get revenge on people who have done the sisters dirty. I need to get to the library because my hold of the new Tori Spelling book came in, I am anxious to read about her mother and her childhood.

I never knew about this. I'm slowly making my way though a dragonlance novel. For whatever reason I just don't read like I used to.

I "read" a lot of audio books. I'm listening to a book about the wives of Henry VIII by Antonia Fraser. It's about 400 pages and goes into great detail about each of the wives in turn and what happened to the survivors.

Well, I am currently reading The Man in the Iron Mask by Alexandre Dumas, Emily Post's "Etiquette" by Peggy Post and American Sign Language The Easy Way. I just finished Baby Brother's Blues by Pearl Cleage. Reading more than one book at once is not as hard as I originally thought. There's some and challenge in recalling what happened in the previous pages when you reopen the books. Happy "Read a Book" day to all.

Every week should be read a book week! I am currently reading The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. The switching back and forth between narrative at the start is quite confusing; sometelling a story to someone about someone telling a story to them, lol. It is quite gripping though. I just wish I had more time to carry one reading it. I love anything to do with the gothic and the Dracula story. What about you??

I am mostly reading comic books at the moment because I do not have much time to read a lot of novels if I am spending most of my time on the computer. The last novel I read was Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury because my boyfriend recommended it to me.

Everyday is a Read-a-Book-Day for me. Right now, I'm reading Lord of the Night by Robin T. Popp after having finished Christine Feehan's Dark Celebration last night. On my work computer, I'm reading Rouge Angel: Destiny by Alex Archer, and in my car, i'm listening to The Immortal Highlander by Karen Marie Moning. So yes, I'm always reading...and I love it...

Your discussion .lol. Kidding aside, the book that i'm into right now is Gracia Burnham's In The Presence Of My Enemies a real-life account of hostaged couple, the author herself and her husband. Book is really good.

I read Jane Eyre just now. But when I turned the first page, I was losing my interest. It is a pity. I think I should read some short stories instead

For my daughter we are reading several different books. One is a compilation of My lil Pony stories. The other is a Curious George book from her elementary school library. For myself, my hubby bought Randy Pauchs' the Last Lecture.

Hello there kimbers867. Oh cool! I will definitely be reading today. Can you believe, I am still reading, "The Sleeping Doll" by Jeffrey Deaver? The thing is, it's really a good suspense thriller. It's just I end up on the computer and doing so many other things, it's just about taking me forever. But, I've got only about 100 pages to go (It's about 550 pages or so, I think), so it won't be long. I certainly agree with everything you said about reading. I'm an avid reader and our home is stuffed with books! You'll have to let us know how that Tori Spelling book is. She's an interesting person. Hey, is Hannah raining on you guys up there? Hope you are staying dry. All the better to stay indoors and read. Take care.

Happy Read a Book Day! I didn't know that so thanks for telling us. Currently I'm reading Queen of Babble in the Big City by Meg Cabot. It's the second book of a series and I know there's one more after this one. It's pretty light reading but I like it, especially after reading some stinkers lately. I've also enjoyed some of her other books as well. I have a list of books I want to read but can't find in any of my local stores. I'm going to have to break down and order them online.

I love to read. I read science fantasy. Currently, I'm reading the second book in a series by Patricia Bray. The first one was The First Betrayal. It's very good. My favorite thing to do is to go to the library with my 10-year-old granddaughter who also loves to read. She picks out books and we read together. I buy my books online from Barnes & Noble.

I'm currently reading The Great Hunt of the Horn by Robert Jordan, and there's a lot on my waiting list, so I kind of made it a habit reading everyday, even a few pages would be fine.

Currently I'm reading "Next" from Michael Crichton. I bought it from ebay for 7 eur. I have read from same author, the book "rising sun" and I love it. It is about how Japanese do business and how they control US over the business. The Next it's about genetic modifications and the implications in our lives.
