Not too long ago I started a discussion about the oldest living gorilla celebrating her 55th birthday.
You can see it here: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1509595.aspx
Today, I find out that Jenny is no more. Jenny had an inoperable stomach tumor and had stopped eating and drinking.
Gorillas in the wild usually live to about 30-35. The title of oldest living gorilla now belongs to Colo, 51, of the Columbus Zoo.

Aww..sad to hear the passing of Jenny, but she did have a nice long life, and longer than what is expected for a gorilla....I was kind of curious...I wanted to find out how old that other famous gorilla was....KoKo...she was born July 4, 1971, so she's 37 years now...wonder how old she'll live...Here's a link
(Warning this is NOT a referral link but a link to an article)

She's the one who was taught sign language, right?

That's right...she was taught sign language, and even had a kitten as a pal

that's sad, but amazing that she lived that long, she must have been well taken care of.

Yes, it is, and yes, she was. Thanks for being the first to respond.
