Times are tough right now. With the mortage crisis, gas prices, umemployment, etc seems like a lot of us are cutting our spendings. I have cut coffee, wine, clothing, and mostly all the "want" needs for myself. What about you, what have you cut from your life?

Well that is a very good question, I have been on a very tight budget for years, being disabled and living on social security disability,I have the cheapest high speed internet service already, I only have limited basic cable, 40 channels that costs $11.00 a month.I am using the energy saving light bulbs at home, unplugging all appliances that are not being used.Do not go out to eat. I love pizza, but I make frozen pizzas now instead of ordering them out.I do not drive unless I really hve to, and when I do, I run several errands at one time.

Our family has cut out the weekly takeout pizza - with 7 of us that was running close to $50. We've also started doing most of our clothes shopping at the local Goodwill Thrift Store. I'm totally blessed to have kids who think it's cool to create their own looks instead of sporting the latest $200 designer sneakers. I've also found that it's much cheaper (and I get much better coffee) if I order my coffee beans direct from a roaster online.

Welcome to myLot, Newbie! For several years, a group of us have lunched at Cheeseke Factory every weekend. I've had to stop going there, and I miss it. I jus't imagine spending that much for lunch when it's so hard to make ends meet. I shop for clothes and shoes much less than before, and I won't even consider anything that isn't on sale. The present economy really stinks!
