How hard was it for you when your children started school for the first time ?

I have five children with three of them in school but it didn't make it any easier for me this year when my fourth daughter started her first year of school . She was so excited to be going to school and I was trying so hard not to cry because my baby girl was growing up so fast . Now I only have one left at home with me all day . She started her first day of grade primary on Wednesday . We took lots of pictures and when it was time to go out to the bus we all went out together .I kept it together until I got a picture of her getting on the bus and then the bus pulling away and then it was too much for me and I started to cry . I really thought the baby would be lost to be at home all day with just me but was surprised when she seemed disinterested that she was going to be the only one home from now on with just mommy . It seems when they start school they become so independent and don't need you as much anymore and I have found this hard with each of my children but know many others that are so excited when their children start school so they don't have to be with them all day . How were you on the first day of school ? Were you glad to have your children back in school ? Was it hard for you when your little one's started the first day or did you look at this as a break ?

It was very hard for me as a mom to see my son set off to school. But, with him learning, has become very difficult...

My son struggles in school and that makes it so much harder as well . My daughter that just started is really smart and I will have no worries about her in school but it is still hard knowing she won't be with me all day and that I only have one baby home with me :) Thank you for your response .

I cried and cried when both my daughters started school. I worried that they would be mistreated, have problems and wanted to make sure they were safe. It was very difficult for me. Last week, my first Grandchild started school. I am now worring about her as well. It just is not safe out there for kids

I don't have any kids so i don't know how hard it will be when they start school but my mom was like that she cried and cried when i went to school . She always liked having us home with her and she liked snow days as muh as we did . I don't think it will bother me when my kids go to school when I have some but i didn't like schhol and they won't probably like it eitehr and i will feel bad for them if they don't want to go like i didn't .
