When does the new book in the eragon series come out? What is the book like? WHo is the gold dragon on the front?

i havn't had the chance to read the any books in the eragon series.. but i've seen the movie and it didn't impress me much at all.. i know that books fare far better than their movie counterparts in most cases..and so i would like some suggestions about the books...

I think it is the dragon from the third egg which will hatch in the last book i think
