Have you read this book yet by Janet Evanovich? I usually wait til the books come out in paperback or look for them in secondhand bookstores. I came across the hardback for "Lean Mean Thirteen" for $1.50 and got very excited!
Then, I got to thinking, I'm not even sure I read the 12th one, I think it's "Twelve Sharp". I love Janet Evanovich's characters. They are so great!
Let me know if you've read, "Lean Mean Thirteen" and what you thought of it but please don't give any of the plot away!

Hi Louise.
Lean Mean Thirteen is a book by a comedy writer, Janet Evanovich. She has great characters, they are really funny. Her books aren't about losing weight. Anyway, she started with "One for the Money", then there was "Two for the Dough", then "Three to Get Deadly", "Four to Score", "High Five", "Hot Six", etc. They are all really fun reads. I call them "fluff" because when I read them, I just want to relax and enjoy. Yes, it was a really great deal to get the book for $1.50.
The main character is Stephanie Plum and she is a bounty hunter for her cousin's business. She's been in an "on again, off again" relationship with a local police man, "Morelli" and he has a dog, "Bob." Stephanie has a grandma "Grandma Mazur" who is a really silly character. But, my favorite character is "Lula", who works with Stephanie and goes on adventures with her. Lula is hilarious. If you like to have fun when you read, try these books. And each one gets better and better. There is a mystery of some sort for Stephanie to solve in each one--a murder, missing person, etc.
Take care, Louise Knittel and thank you for responding.

I'm sure you have finished the book by now since you posted you're message six months ago. Did you like it? It's the one with Dicky, Stephanie's ex, in it, right? That one was hilarious. They should make movies out of the books! I always love Lula, she is great.

Hi 1gidget. Yes, I finished the book and I loved it. I love Janet Evanovich, her writing is fantastic. Wouldn't her books make fun movies?? Lula is my favorite character in her books, I can just see her wearing all that spandex. Thanks for your response.
