Would you rather: have your heart broken or break someone else's heart?

I think I can live more with myself having my heart broken. I know I'm strong and I can rebuild myself. I just don't think I can live with the guilt of breaking someone else's heart. What if they weren't ready? What if it costs them their life?

i'll go with you too... i would rather have my heart broken than break someone else's.. i have experienced breaking someones heart.. i was filled with guilt.. and each day was like unbearable.. the incident kept on going back to my head.. and i was very sad because of what i did.. sometimes i wished that i had never done that.. but he has a good life now. going back, i can bear the pain of someone hurting me than the guilt of hurting someone.. probably because of the many experiences i had, it made me stronger.

The good thing about this is that every mistake we have is an experience we learn from. This makes us better and better.

Well all i can say is there is always a mend for a broken heart! Its really hard to be on a rebounding stage. but you still have to move on your life... well you can tell that person if he or she really loves you he or she will wait for the right time... but please enjoy... life is so short for you to make it wonderful not miserable.... and alone... everybody gets hurt.. but you have to stand up...

Honestly, I would rather have my heart broken than hurt somebody's heart especially my boyfie. I have had my heart broken so many times already so it would not make a difference to be hurt one more time. I felt what it is like to be hurt already so I do not want to make him or anyone feel the same kind of feeling. He does not deserve to be hurt so I would not break his heart.

From what you've said I'm thinking you're saying that YOU deserve to be hurt?

If I love a girl, I would not let she break heart. If it have to break one's heart, I will choose to break my heart because I love her.

I cant say that i would ratehr have either happen, however in my life, ive never broke anyones heart that im aware of. Every dating relationship or long term relationship has ended by their choice, in a cpl cases, left for soemone else, in another they moved, things like that..in fact im in contact with severl of my "ex's" but its because they may break my heart or dump me or whatever, but i always bounce back, might be months or yrs down the line but have always managed to keep cool with them, so i would prob have to say i would rather have heart broken, i couldnt stand to have someone mad at me, because i broke theirs.

Are you now in a relationship where neither of you have the risk of having your heart broken? Good for you though. I think we think the same way.

I would rather have my heart broken than hurt someone else heart. I just cant be at peace knowing that i have hurt somebody's feeling specially if they have done nothing but love me. Sometimes even how much the person cares for you. You cant avoid it that time comes you will fell out of love towards that person. Hurting that person would be so hard to do. Some people think it is easy but it was never easy to say something that you know will hurt them so badly. Specially if it comes to the point where in they would no longer trust anyone at all. Start to lose hope of ever finding the right person for them. So id rather be the one who gets heart broken since i know eventually i can learn how to move on than hurt someone's feelings.

I'd agree. We seem to all be martyrs here. Might be a different thing in the real world since there are other circumstances right?

How do you avoid "complications" in your love life?
