i had to make connection flights at chicago international airport. while i was sitting there waiting to board the plane. i looked at those 'foreigners' passing by with curious eyes and soon realised they are not much different than chinese people except their color and race. i don't know how other overseas chinese people felt on their first day in america or other countries. I myself was not excited at all. Things seem to be the same except that I have to speak English on a daily basis. i used to think life would be so different if i lived outside china, but the fact, which i just realised, is that no matter where i am, life is basically the same. maybe it's just my life, what about yours??

Aside from language and some cultural differences, I agree most things are the same. Perhaps money might be differnet and monetary values (dollar is worth less than euros, for example) and technology may be slightly different as well as certain customs (it's pretty standard to shake someone's right hand here in USA when meeting them, particularly in business practices, but other cultures may not like to touch at all, or may like to hug)... Aside from that, people are people.
COuntry doesn't determine inate human nature.
