Have anyone heard about this guy Ricky Rubio, a 17 year old point Guard of the spain national basketball team (yes 17 year old). He actually have played massive minutes during the 2008 beijing olympics. Wow for a 17 year old, it is a big thing to play for a strong national team like Spain. Just a little info about this guy; he's a tall PG about 6'4in similar to USA's Jason Kidd. He turned Pro when he was 14, He is currently engaged in a commercial team in Spain (professional level). He is said to be the next Pete Maravich or Steve Nash. He once have an astounding record during a championship game in his commercial team: 54pts 24 reb. and +10 something assist. nuts right? And he's predicted to be the #1 in the NBA in the 2009 NBA draft if he decides to join the draft. You can see his videos on You tube just type in his name "Ricky Rubio". Any comments or info about this guy?

A talented player... one of the rising stars of European basketball... At this time he is still a little immature to play on high standards (like in the final a lot of attempts for alley ops or 3pts shots under bad circumstances) I think if he keeps working hard he can be a great PG in the next 3-4 years... time will show :)

Yeah i think so and he's pretty tall too huh? I think he's atleast 6'3 in. in height. I can see him to be similar to steve nash. But I think there's only one steve nash, I mean his ability.

Haha actually I think one factor that he's so famous is that he has the looks, but ofcourse not to take away the talent in him. But I've noticed this, don't you think he looks like the mexican boxer Erik Morales??? haha

I watched this kid play in the Olympics as well. He's amazing! He really made an impression on me. I don't think he's tall though he seemed to be the shortest player on the team. But with his age and the skills that he's got I have no doubts that he will make things happen in the future. It's sad that he has to join the NBA to gain popularity, but I'm sure he'll be able to develop more as a player if he plays against other teams in the NBA.

I saw him play and he is good, however, he isn;t Kobe Bryant or Lebron James, or even kevin Garnett. All guys who went right to the NBA out of high school. He is good but the NBA is a lot more physical and European players don't play that sort of game. it was proven in the finals with the Lakers players besides kobe. He will be ok in the NBA but he isn't Chris Paul or Deron Williams either. he isn't the biggest guy and will have a hard time with some of the more physical guards posting him up.

yes, i watched him during the Olympics semi and final matches... his vision and passing to an open man is quite impressive... i heard he will be the NBA first draft pick for 2010... hope he will continue to develop and become great, lebron james is also a 17-year-old in Athens 2004 ;)
