The Australian team management has done the right thing by showing the gate to Andrew Symonds for showing disinterest to attend an important team meeting. No player is important when it comes to discipline. Andrew should know how to conduct himself both on and off the field.

Nobody is above the team. Rules are framed to be followed. Rules once accepted by the team, every member is duty bound to respect it and follow it. Rules brings in the much needed discipline amongst team mates.

I think every team worth it's salt values discipline and self-discipline at that. Most of the best teams have a no-compromise attitude to it. Cricket Australia has demonstrated the same attitude with Ander Symonds and that shows why they are one of the top teams in the world today. Similarly, SA had shown the same intent in chopping of Hansie Cronje's tenure after his involvement in match fixing issue. These are examples set by both boards of highest standards. Cheers! Ram
