Dyeing Your Hair

Hey, have you started dyeing your hair? I am getting up there in age, ...and my hair has lost its shine as I get older. I started dyeing it my natural brunette color, with a lighter sunshine highlight. Many older women dye their hair blonde. What you do think? Go gray? Dye it blonde? Highlight it? but dye it the color of your youth. What is generally more appealing?

zeny, Do you have alot of gray? My gray is sprinkled throughout my hair, so I can go quite a long time between dying. I notice some people go for lighter colors when they dye later in life. I suspect they are grayer than I am, ...so with a lighter color, ....when it comes in gray, it is not as noticeable, if they have dyed their hair a light color.

jhellie_baby, I'm not sure what color you used, ....but I noticed a black black color, not the slightly lighter brunette color, ruins some people's hair; also if you lighten your hair a lot with peroxide, it too will ruin your hair. I use a dark brown, or sometimes a little lighter ash brown. My hair actually looks healthier with the color. Good luck, walkgal, karenk
