Why is it so hard to convince people nowadays?

No matter how catchy you make a commercial about some brand of soda, people still won't go out and try it. Or how about those gum commercials you see all the time? It's basically everything that isn't convincing now. Until companies throw celebrities in the mix and pay big bucks for them to say a few good words about a their product. Here is my problem: I've made it to the top ten in this $1,000 scholarship video contest, and voting starts tomorrow on the host's website, www.scholarshippoints.com. Only the members can vote. And on Myspace, I've posted numerous, very informative bulletins about this scholarship site, trying to convince them to join in on the fun. I'm not getting down on my knees and asking them to "Vote for me!", I'm telling them about what they're getting out of signing up. I've given them countless information about what the site has: fun contests, and free, easy, scholarships. I've given them secret offers that are too good to pass up. And the website doesn't even base the students on GPA or those wretched test scores that colleges drool over. It's so simple, and these kids, who are my age, are all high school seniors NEEDING money for school and they aren't taking up the opportunity! WHY? I don't understand. I've only had one person sign up and that's it. And she's focused on her education. I don't know how I'm going to win this contest if I can't get people to sign up and vote. If you would like to sign up and be a fantastic help, go here: www.scholarshippoints.com My e-mail for refer-a-friend is: acute_angle12245@yahoo.com You can even delete your account after voting tomorrow. :] Do you find it hard to convince people for certain things, yourself?

it is hard to convince people nowadays because more and more people are becoming prankers and most of the time, people just want to get your attention for their own benefit.. even when they have to pretend to be something else.

Hello! People have become very much conscious about the quality and price of the products so they can't be deceived. One can't convince people about the genuineness of the products as there are so many fake products in the same name.thanx.

I think it's just because people have different concerns from each other. Even they have the same concern, the timing might be different. you'll have to check in their mind in the right direction and at the right time.

That could be it. Thanks for your response. Maybe I'll just leave it alone for a little while and see what happens. :]

i guess it's because it's also hard to trust just anyone nowadays. a lot of people deceive you so it is just right to be careful before getting convinced. ;-)
