I am the worlds most disorganized person. I have stuff all over. I could not keep things straight if my life depended on it. If i open mail I leave it everywhere it should not be. I can do laundry and fold it all up nicely and not put it away than it gets scattered all over the place. I'm not dirty I can keep things clean just can't put things in its rightful place. So what do you all think are you organized or disorganized? And any pointers all you organized people can give to me to help me get on the right track will be put to good use. Hopefully. lol

Are you me? My mess is just like yours -- clean but cluttered. I tell myself I'm going to get it all straightened out tomorrow, but that particular tomorrow never arrives! I thought of using myLot inco hire someone to sort it out, but they'd have to check me aobut each item's value, so it wouldn't work. If there's a way to force myself to sort it all out, I'd love to know what it is!

Than by the time you go back to your first small area you need to start all over again because it is cluttered all up again. lol

One of the best ways I've found, is start with a very small area, one particular table, counter, etc. Go thru and sort what is on that table, trash, to file, etc. Throw it away, and you don't have to file everything right then, get a basket, bag, or new file folder, and put all your 'to file' items in that. With in just a short time that table will be done, then if anything is left there the next day, put it away. Then go to the next small area, before long you have it done, and it's not as overwhelming to keep up with. I'm not a clean 'freak' but I just don't like clutter. Just don't open that closet.........hahahaha

That's why I hate housework! No matter what, it's never finished. It needs to be done again by the time you finish. Clutter clearing seems to be like that, no matter how I swear I won't let anything get cluttered again!

I am a pretty organized person, I keep my wall calendar up to date with any appts, special events, etc. so that I can check it at a glance. I also don't like clutter, so I fold the laundry and go put it away right then. I normally make the bed before I even go downstairs for a cup of coffee, and I at the least put any dishes in the sink that are left in the evening, to wash the next day. I have a basket that I put our mail in, I normally open my mail when it comes, and it either goes into the basket (to file later) or in the trash. My boyfriend reads his mail when he comes in from work, and he's pretty good about throwing the trash away and leaves what he needs to keep on the buffett by the basket. I also have made it a habit to glance around and see if anything needs to go upstairs if that is where I am headed.

See I have tried all that but it just never seems to last very long. I have a calendar buried under stuff on my desk somewhere. lol

I am somehow organised and yet disorganised, depending on my mood and my free time. If i'm busy or not in a good mood...my room can be the galactic rubbish dump...on the contrary...when i am in a good mood or have plenty of free time...i would tidy up my room...keeping my papers, files, CDs and books neatly on the tables and shelves....Ironically, i always manage to find the stuff i need when my room is in a total mess and have to spend hours (not to mention turning my room into a mess again) searching for it when the stuffs are arranged neatly.

I wish I had just one room to keep tidied. When it's a whole house forget it there is no chance that it will be organized at least not each room at the same time.lol

lol, you poor sole :-) it gets messier and messier once you let the mess starts. you can take a weekend time, make everything in order, and arrange them in the way to your pleasure and convenient. Then, start from Monday on, you just remember to return things to where it was. I bet it'll be still a bit messy when the Friday comes, but no worry, organize them again next weekend...and so on. After a while, you'll feel it's unacceptable living in a messy house :-)
