Replace ignition in 89 Jeep Cherokee?

Do I have to take the entire steering column apart to replace ignition in my 89 Jeep Cherokee? I have read the Chilton's Manual I have and it give conflicting views and instructions. I have started to take the steering wheel off but stop because I don't have the right tools. I need some help please.

I have found no reponse to this post from last 5 months... I have seen many user complaining their post does not get any resonse and i have found that true. So just thought if we can respond to this post and make it alive... So request all to put up their value reply
