Great idea for silk flower/fall arrangements

Hiding silk flower stems - I used a glove to hide the stems and it looks very nice, at least to me. You might want to use one of your winter gloves, or a bunch of old ribbon or even tissue paper to hide the stems of your silk flowers if you don't have an opaque vase.

I had bought some fall silk flowers last year at $.10 a bunch and it was time to get them out and enjoy them. But all I had were clear glass vases and I didn't want to see the plastic stems. I sure didn't want to spend any money on those attractive but expensive glass balls that look so nice in vases, either, since this is a very, very tight month for me. I was looking for some nice paper to cover them with when I came across my son's gloves that he left here last Christmas and got a brainstorm. I stuck one in a vase, fingers down, and put the silk flowers in the glove. It looks great! Check it out in the picture, it has a nice woodsy look to it and didn't cost me a thing. Only too a couple of seconds to make a problem vase look really nice!

That's an interesting idea, I had never thought of that. My suggestion was going to be to grab some cellophane paper, or Saran Wrap, and stuff some of that in the vase along with the flowers. The Saran Wrap looks a little bit like water. Another free and easy idea.

That's a great idea! I have some green plastic wrap, clear, blue and purple! Thanks for that.
