I have been trying, for the past two years, to live a healthier life. I was shocked by the number of people who, known to me, died of either heart related diseases, or cancer. And those that are still alive, but have been diagnosed with either one or the other of the two killers. A third one that raelly shocked was younger people, including children as young as twelve and fourteen who suffer from diabetes. having discovered that I have a cholestrol level of just over 6 made me realize that it all begins with choices. Good health starts with good choices - and I have made some bad choices. Choices in unhealthy eating results in unhealthy bodies. So, as the Bible says, "The truth shall set you free." Well, I had to work hard at breaking my bad eating habits, and follow a new lifesyle, if I wanted to live not only heathier, but also longer. I did this by 1.discarding all "fast foods" 2. Exercising regularly 3. Getting enough sleep. 4.Eating wholesome veggies especially the green type. 5. Only white meat (chicken) and enough fish, without the chips. No more pasteries, and only red wine. I was amazed at the results after six months. My Cholestrol was down to under 4, and I was feeling so much energised and healthy. My Blood pressure was 120/80 and blood sugar normal. I can really attest to the fact that will-power is needed to succeed. Its hard work, yes, but then its worth the effort.

I am really worried with this situation too. Many young people now have been diagnosed with ailments that are meant for older ones before. Our current situation is really becoming worse and that we should all be aware of it so as to fight such emerging realities that keep on haunting us.
