OK, I'll bite - WHAT "negative media" against Palin? I know there have been some people, some part of the media and some not, who have made sexist comments about Palin's ability to do the job of V.P. with five kids and I disagree with that type of thing. However, there have been some allegations of sexism that haven't been valid and I fear the McCain campaign is going to try to use the gender card as much as possible to their advantage. If anyone questions Palin's experience, qualifications, credibility or consistency that will be called sexist. When Joe Biden debates her, it's already pretty much decided - he's either going to be a sexist or he's going to be "picking on a lady". She used her status as a "jockey mom" and told her joke about being a pit-bull with lipstick", she was proud to introduce her five children (which is understandable and acceptable) but nobody else is allowed to mention the fact that she's a woman or a mother without being accused of sexism. How about we leave the gender issue out of the equation and you tell me what negative media have you seen against Palin? Of course they're going to check into her record as governor of Alaska and as Mayor of Wasilla. Of course they're going to check into claims she made in her speeches and see if they hold up against the facts that are available. Of course the facts that she is a relative newcomer to the national political scene and that there had apparently been little vetting done before she was chosen and that McCain had only ever met her once are going to be brought up by the media - that's what they do! The fact that she has yet to make any appearances on any of the news shows is going to be discussed because it's virtually unheard of for a candidate on a national ticket. Has it also been "negative media" when various Democrats have been criticized for not accepting invitations to appear on various Fox Mews programs? I'm a Democrat and a huge NON-fan of Fox News but I know those criticisms were to be expected but Palin wouldn't even grant an interview to the staunchest conservatives on Fox let alone any from the rest of the "liberal" mainstream media! I've come to the conclusion that anything beyond a press release written by the McCain campaign is going to be judged to be "negative" about this woman. She was very likely chosen because she's an ultra-conservative, anti-choice, much younger female but the mention of any of these very obvious facts is not allowed? Annie
