Okay, so i have one kid in school, she just started this year and from what i can tell is doing good, this is the start of her second week, so what do i know for real!!! anyway, i have always wanted to home school my kids. and with my second child, she has alot of health issues. she has a low immune system, she has seizures once her body temp gets to 100* and so on.. i dont know if it would be more benificial for me to school her at home or what. but she still has 2 years before she can start school (her birthday is after the cut off date or she would have only 1 more year). but my husband and i wanted to see how this year would go for our oldest and then decide from there. does anyone have any ideas on this? what is better, public or home school. i was home schooled from 9th grade on... along with many friends i know.. but we were in a bad area that the schools stunk.. anyway.. i am just getting info!

I really believe in home school. My Hubby thinks my kids will get messed up and be anti social if they stay home with me so my son is in public school. I hate it. I have home work I have for him at home so that he can pracitce things at home too. If you are dedicated to your kids learning then I think that you can give them a better education then they can get in a crowded room. I know that there are great teachers out there, but who knows your kids better then you? Who cares more about their education then you? When kids are in a class room they all learn at one standard pace. When kids learn at home they can slow down on things they struggle with and cruise through the things that they excel at. It is a tough decision to make, and the laws differ in every state. Good luck and listen to your heart.

thanks alot. i feel for you! i hate the fact my girl is in public school and her sister (the youngest) is a quick quick learner on many things that i think it might be a problem for her, like you say because they learn at the same pace. my oldest does have a good teacher but its also just the start!! LOL! Thanks so much for your kind words and understanding!

This is a good guestion I know my brother has 5 kids and couple of them have health issues and one or two with attention problems and they have decided to do the home schooling for it was easier for them so that they could make sure they got there meds on time and all the oldest right now is in 9th grade but does 12th grade work..so this works for them. They consulted there doctors and they also agreed that home schooling would be better for them.good luck hope all goes well.
