Hi there fellow Filipinos! It is said that Philippines is planning to change from a democratic form to federal form. They say that a federal form of government can uphold our country to be progressive. What is your stand about this?

Well I think we have several changes in the government decades ago. From the time of the Marcoses to this date we have several changes already but still we remain as a poor nation. I think what is really needed is change in leadership not change in the form of government. This changes will just make the present administration cling to their power more longer. I think what we have to do is have a much more clearer stand to where we are and not change to another form that will just make them stay in power.

I think Pres. Marcos has his reason for declaring martial low. He is so wise, and to that point we are a progressive country. It's just that after ruling for so long the people is not happy with him anymore. Well, power is really overwhelming.

Well you're right but Marcos stay in power had corrupted him so much that he almost wanted to stay there perpetually. But he failed since we Pinoys really want the change in the government. I think what we need now is really a sincere government which I do not see in our present times.

Yeah, the current ruler is selfish I should say. She even proposed to raised her salary 100%. Wow! nice! Thinking after herself instead on making those unemployed and homeless the opportunity to make a brand new way to start.

i dont see anything wrong in changing the form of govt. i've read that there are several pros in having a federal form. and it sounds really, really good. but having a look at the pros, what are the cons? what really is the intention behind having a change in form of government? obviously, its to elongate their reign. changing the type of government will be ok for me as long as its not the current politicians! come to think of it, who are the perfect politicians for us?

We agree to change the form of government but with the righteous ones, not the current ruler who is just head-over-heels insane. She is on her 10th or 12th year during the next election. I just think, its better to have those uneducated ones to rule coz they will not cheat on us that much, compared to those who are highly educated, tricking us here and there.

I guess the flow of corruption would just be more solid than how we have it today. Since Federalism would mean making each provinces or region somehow independent (at least that's how I assumed it would be), that would only make governors or federalists more powerful. I also don't think changing the one leading the country would clean up our government since corruption runs deep in our society already. I think the change should start with us. By changing ourselves, becoming more disciplined, we're actually planting the seed for a better society.

Yeah, I honestly hate this government, so corrupt. To think I'm paying large amount of tax but I didn't see any output with what we're paying for.

form of government is not that important, what is important is how the leader will do his/her job, the problem with our leaders here is they only think for themselves, if that kind of attitude is not changed, don't expect to have a bright future for this country!

We don't really have basically. All our skilled professional are there in other countries serving the foreign land. Its the foreign land that benefits their service instead of our country who need it the most. But due to lack of opportunity, they take the risk and test their fate.

i don't agree with the idea that changing the form of government can lead to the progress of our country. i believe that it's the leader that needs to be changed. i think this charter change would only lead to the extension of our president's term which is basically what she has in mind for proposing such change.

Yeah, I agree! Just making some excuses to extend her term of office. I didn't find a ruler whose rating is -32, its just now.
