role models and competition

can anyone explain to me the thing with role models and competition,i have seen this situation but dont know what to call it,lets say if someone really wants to be like somebody else,to such an extent that he/she act and imitate everything that about him/her,but at the same time really hate the person he/she wants to be like.what do you call this thing,is it competition,jealousy or is it someone with his/her role model???
