concern for a family member

Hi guys....recently my brother s completed his intermediate ..he aspires to become an engineer...so decided to take admission in a good engineering college in my home town...he is a very brilliant chap ..be it his studies or any other matter ...evrybody from my family have high expectations from him as far as his career is concerned..after his 10th standard he had some different plans for his career which we denied to go for and he went according to our expectations...and now he wish to do that again ..I know that it ll be a loss of time and energy to go for a diploma for 3 years after he s completed with intermediate successfully...advised him to prepare for competitive entrance exam and take admission for degree..later came to know that he is actually scared of that entrance exams and thinks he would not pass it...well i know the fact that he can easily pass it by studying himself.. later we had a big argument on the issue ...he also thinks that we sont let him take his own decisions...sad to know that ...I think here that he should also understand our feelings for him that we care for his career and himself ...we didnt allow him to take that decision coz at this stage he is not capable of taking them...finally he s agreed to go by our decision..but feels that we have forced him and doesnt respect it...but I hope that one he is mature enough he will realise that we showed him a right way and he wont be at any loss....i really dont feel bad if he doesnt respect me or feels I am not at all correct in my approach if his future is secured this way....though I love him a lot as i do for all my family members...( so it hurts a little).. so guys what u have to say about this .....
