I am 39 years old and 15 years into my Government job . I have never changed a job . My job lets me just run the life . Not only me , but all my collegues are worried about their childrens' education in view of the ever rising cost of education . Still we cannot shift to other jobs . Because , 1. We cannot take risk . Because , though poorly paid , our jobs being directly under government are very secure . ( All government departments' pay structure are similar , so , shifting to another Govt. deapartment is meaningless) 2.Private sector jobs are not available to us , because , by age we are outdated for the modern work environment in Private sector. 3. Even is any private concern offer us jobs , we are not confident enough to join them . Still I am unhappy with the present job . But young guys around me are constantly changing their jobs ( from private sector to private sector ) . They have to tell that changing jobs is another way to raise monthly salary . In case of yourself how many jobs have you changed ? Please , mention your present age . Thanks .

I am 42 years old and an engineer. I have been working for 16 years and I have worked for 9 (yes, nine) different companies. Some may think that it is big disadvantage for me in the sense that I have transferred from one place to another, and my resume is 5 pages. But looking back, I have no regrets because all my previous employers were already closed, or very weak. Mind you, most of them are big companies in their own field. The funny thing I think I have to transfer again because my present employer just release a memo to invite those who like to file an early retirement. This is because the production is very low and they think that reducing manpower is the best solution. Actually, I am thinking about it as I have been working there for 7 years. Now, I feel that 10 companies are enough for me and I hope to use the money for a small business and add earnings from blogging.

Hi there akumei1269! I have never changed jobs yet. I mean, I have never experienced shifting from one job to another. I started working immediately after graduation. Since then, I have served the same company for eight years already. I love my job even if it is not really financially rewarding. I enjoy all the activities associated with my job. One day, I would like to do other jobs too. By the way, I am already 29.

I am 26,this is my second job. when i changed my job. my father said:"just do it, don't worry, you will change your job again." I was very worried when i decide to change the job. I don't know if i can learn more and earn more. but i grow up during the change. i think you can do some part-time job to adapt the competition. i believe you will earn the value as long as you do something hard.
