The Big "OH GEE"!

I was just thinking...
What if humankind finally DID discover the nature of the universe, where we came from, and all that other great cosmic mystery stuff?....and let's just say that the answer was soooo simple, it was almost laughable. Do you think we'd shout out:
"I knew it! I just knew it!"...or...Do you think we'd be disappointed?
I mean, haven't all great mysteries usually been solved by finding the answers sitting there right under our noses? Just a thought. What say you?
I know I'd laugh.

Oh, I believe it'll be a simple answer. That's usually the case, like you said.
I'd probably go, "Huh! Imagine that!" and that'll be that. I mean, if discovering the true nature of the universe leads to cures for horrible diseases or stops plagues or something along those lines, then it was WORTH spending countless years and billions of dollars to find the answer.
But, if all it means is that some scientists get to say, "I told you so!" I'll probably just shake my head and go do the laundry or something.

Hahahah....do the laundry or something...that's a good one.
I enjoy your sense of humor.
Have you heard about the new LHC partical excellerator, that they're turning on today? Mind you, it's just a test run prior to the big shee-bang launch in October.
If you haven't heard about it...you might want to check it out.
The answer to this question just might not be too far fetched.

Yep, I've heard about it. Aren't we all supposed to just go "poof!" today or something? Isn't the world supposed to end? If so, I suppose I ought to say bye bye and it's been great knowing you. If not, then it really would be cool to have answers to questions like this one. Of course, it may change life as we know it! Billions of people might just have to start taking Prozac or I might have to start going to church!
I'm prepared; I'm ready. Of course, most likely I'll still have the laundry to do. Sigh!

Hi Carl...
On a metaphoric level, perhaps it would have made more sense of me, to ask the correct question, rather than to seek a definite answer?
The number 42, as far as I'm concerned, IS the answer. I too agree with Douglas Adams's theory.
Good one.

I borrow from Douglass Adams. Yet another 5 book trilogy form an author who can't count. Come to think of it, that puts his answer the the great question of life the universe and everything into question. If 3=5 in his math what does 42 equal?
