What do you usually do on weekends?

My weekend is actually only Sunday as I am free only on that day. For many, I think it is Saturday and Sunday. What exactly do you do on those days? Personally, I try and catch up on work which was pending for the whole week and also try to catch up with friends or relatives. Just don't understand when Sunday comes and zooms past me and makes me stand in front of the dreaded Monday morning. Do you get enough time on weekends? What do you do then?

I work full time and am off on Saturday and Sunday. Usually I catch up on some housework on Saturday, but there's not too much for me to do since my husband is home all week and takes care of the basic upkeep. I also go to the grocery store with my daughter and the grandkids and we usually have them over for dinner. Usually on Sunday, but sometimes on Saturday, I catch up on any laundry that needs to be done and we watch football or the NASCAR race. We have my daughter's family over for dinner on Sunday's, too, and sometimes my husband's son and his family will stop by. Even with two days off every week it's not enough and those two days fly by!

I bet, the days we are off just seems to fly by and brings in front of us the omnious Monday morning. It's a real pain to get to work on Mondays. Nice that you enjoy motor racing. Usually it is the Formula One which I enjoy on Sundays.

Hi, I'm fortunate to have a 2-day weekend. And I'll be very unhappy if I have to work on a weekend ! On Saturdays, I usually take my parents, who stay 10km away from me, for breakfast / lunch, and their week shopping at hypermarkets. On Sundays, I'd sleep as late as possible - it's to make up for all the sleep loss during the weekdays (I need to wake up at 6am each day). Then I'd spend the whole day, either lazing around or doing some housework, if I feel energetic enough!

Hi lazeebee, I think your name too is sending out signals of being lazy . Anyway, who would'nt like to have a really lazy weekend especially after working really hard for the entire week. For you, it's kinda a family reunion which is really great. Nice to know that. Keep it going. Happy Mylotting.

I usually get the extra sleep I think I deserve from one week of work. My body has become too tired of work that I need the sleep to recharge and be ready for the next week and another round of work in the office. I also get to watch television longer than I do at weekdays. I could do it from morning til night and nobody can stop me from doing it. Typical at these may be, these things keep me recharged and ready for the coming week ahead.

Yeah, it's a good time to energize ourselves with the energy being drained out of us in the weekdays. It's also a good time to catch up on movies or TV stuff. Though the personal work pending for the week also needs to be completed which takes away most of my time. Even then I try to make optimum use of my off days.

Weekends are my family time. Usually I like to cooking something interesting for my family. Or we will go out to the park etc to have some fun. And I will spend less time on internet. I love China

Hey, that's very good. Being close to your family on off days is really a good thing. Kinda bring the family together. But, I think you must also devote some time to Mylot also as I would say that Mylot is also our big family, what say?

I am also in the boat, as you are. I also have six days working and one day weekend. But as you say, this one day is too short to complete even all the necessary works pending since long time. For me, Sunday comes so late after the hard work of one full week and it flies by so fast that when I come to my senses, it is already Monday, staring in my face. But any way, during Sundays, I start my day a little late (not much, only about half or one hour only) and make a list of works to complete and try to completed these works after finishing my breakfast. Sometimes, I get even more busy on Sunday than weekdays.

Yes, I also hate Monday morning the most. In fact, its thought of coming starts giving me shivers on the Sunday evening itself.

I bet, Sunday is a very fast paced day. Just like today, it is evening now and I don't know if I have done anything worthy today the whole day other than completing a good sleep . Anyway, one can't help it but put up a brave front for the dreaded Monday morning. Bye and happy mylotting, do tell me how was your Sunday today.

Most weekends I spend with my girlfriend but I also work every other weekend. We usually either go out to the pub or watch a film. But with the price of everything going up and my wages staying the same, theres not many cheap activities to do these days. Last weekend we went down to her dads in Wales and went on his 46ft boat and then went to the beach which was fun. But I agree, the weekend does fly by super fast and the weekend is really not long enough.

I personally think weekends should be longer, I hate Mondays, nothing ever seems to go right for me. Sat. we usually sleep in a little, then we'll get up get ready to go to town, go to the bank to cash hubby's check, then we'll stop and get something to eat, whether its breakfast or lunchtime. Then we'll go back home and sit around the house and do nothing unless we've got yardwork or something to do, and just spend the day together. Sunday we get up and go to church, then afterwards we'll go grab a bite to eat, come home and hang around here, and sometimes one our friends might come over and we'll watch tv. We don't do a whole lot on the weekends, if its a good weekend and its not raining we like to go fishing and camping.

I hate Mondays too. It's kinda takes an effort to dress up and go about your duties. As for the weekend being extended I am in for the idea.

I usually just hang out and do what I want. I'm a stay at home dad so my week is spent doing what I need to do and when the weekend comes I can do what I want to do. I do all my important stuff during the week and relax on Sat and go to church on Sunday. Monday is just another day of the week.

Hey that's really cool. So you do your own family business. Then you can take holidays at your will, be it weekend or not. That's great that you don't have some external boss.

Hi! You can't say that weekends are just like any other day because something special is happening on that day. You've mentioned it yourself that you get to meet your whole family. That's a very big thing. Kinda family reunion and it can be real fun Your grandson seems to be really cute by the way you've described him. I must say your weekend rocks.

I started working in a new city far away from my hometown and university about half a month ago. Everything here is new to me, different climate, diet, people, surroundings, etc, and I don't have a lot of people to talk to but my two roommates. Although I have two-day weekends, I have to spend them alone at most of the times, bcuz I just broke up with my ex-girlfriend and my roommates usually go out with their girfriends at weekends. So to kill time, I just watch TV, do some reading, chatting online, walking around on the streets, whatever that make me feel less solitary. I know it's a little bit sad to hear that, but I can live with that loneliness, and I believe the situation will be so much better once I get more used to my new surroundings in the near future, ha ha And I hope everyone can have pleasurable weekends together with the persons they like.

I do feel sad that you had to go far for home for studies but none the less it's for a good reason that you've gone there. I like the spirit in which you laugh even when you're sad. You're truly a very positive person. Keep it up and you'll always be happy. Just remember that people around the world are spending their weekends similar to yours.

My weekends are as busy as the rest of the week and sometimes more because my husband is a part time professor during the weekends and he leaves home earlier than usual. I end up having to take care of both the kids and do everything ...sometimes even the outside chores and it's really really hectic for me.

So, Sunday is a wake-late day for you. I think it is for most of the people around the world. It's the day when you are care-free about any work and can get work done at your leisure. I hope your kids don't trouble you much. Anyway, my love to them.

On the weekends, I like to go to the park or the lake. I just moved to a new city, and there is a park that has a river. It is so nice. People are always fishing in it, so I think I want to give it a try too. But I've never fished before in my life. I think I'd like to try something easy, because now I'm starting to get really tired even after just walking my dog. I'm hoping sometime soon we can get some type of a boat. It would be so fun to take it in the water. Church on Sundays is also great.

Hey goody, fishing is a very nice thing to do. Just relax and keep the fishing rods steady. What if you don't catch any fish also, it's just a relaxing and destressing feeling and would be a very nice thing to do one your off day. I hope you get a boat and enjoy in the lake big time.
