Amazing. This is the first time I've tried to grow any vegetables. I planted late so I doubt I'll get many ripe tomatoes. I don't even like tomatoes but my mom does. So there are 17 on this one and there are more flowers waiting to sprout tomatoes! One of them looks just about ready to pick!
How many tomatoes are usual on a plant? This is called an Early Girl plant.
I've learned a lot from this and next year will plan better!

You're doing very good for your first attempt! I'm impressed!
Your little plant actually looks much healthier than mine do. Mine suffered terribly during a really hot spell we went through earlier this summer. Tomatoes aren't very fond of excessive heat.
The amount of tomatoes you can get on a single plant varies according to how large the plant is. I've grown some that were over 10 feet long! I had maybe 50 or 60 tomatoes on them at one time.
But, just by seeing your little plant, I'd say that you are doing exceptionally well with 17 tomatoes on it! Well, 16 now... I read your comment about your mom just picking one. LOL
You've got a green thumb, for sure! Yes, please do more next year. You'll be amazed at what can grow from such tiny little seeds! Oh, be sure to plant something that YOU like to eat. There's nothing like picking something you grew and popping it into your mouth!

If only there were such a thing as a Hershey plant!
I wish I could have a tangerine tree but Ohio's not the place for one. Thanks for all that amazing info!

Lucky you! And if you put them in the freezer, the skins will slip right off when they are thawed. So if you want to save some for winter soups and chili, that's how to make it easy.

Wow, that's a LOT of tomatoes! And my mom just picked the first ripe one a few minutes ago, she's planning on having it for breakfast!

That is really wonderful. Those of us who are into gardening will know the thrill one gets out of it.I stayed in a different place earlier and there I used to grow these hybrid tomatoes and I remember they used to weigh over a kilo each and it used to be so heavy and I had to keep supports for every plant.I don't remember counting them. But 17 is quite a bit.Enjoy your gardening.Have a good harvest.

Thanks, this is the first time I've ever grown any vegetables of my own. Next year I'll have a lot more kinds now that I know I can grow things.

Hey Dragon.
You did a good job with your first planting. Seventeen on the tomato plant at one time is pretty good.
I'm going to have a small garden next year. I'll probably have zucchini, tomatoes, bell peppers, and maybe some carrots. I'm not sure if I can actually have a garden spot but I'll see if a can have some large containers for the plants. I'm going to keep an eye out the next few paydays so that I can get some planters that are marked down in price.
Good luck on your garden next year! You should be able to grow everything for your salsa!

If you can't get planters at a good price, you can always line and cover boxes with garbage bags, making holes for drainage. I did that one year with flowers and it worked just fine. I'm looking forward to next year!

Wow, it must feel great. My mom loves to do gardening and she loves to see the fruit the plant bears. She too has a tomato plant and it bears about 30-35 tomatoes. The taste of freshly picked fruits and veggies is very diffrent that the ones that we buy, it is very tasty. Enjoy the tomatoes, you would start to like them!!

What's strange is that I love salsa, which is made of tomato chunks with onions, bell peppers and cilantro but I can't stand to eat tomatoes on sandwiches or in salads! I love to grow things, next year I will have a big garden!
